Whooooshhhhh! Thar She Goes :) :) :)

Thanks [info]sollersuk for the encouragement over the years I've known you. :)

I've had some REALLY beautiful fiddle playing today, and the last couple of days.  For those who want to know, beautiful shetland airs and the fastest, and I do mean THE fastest I have ever played, John Clare's "Savage Hornpipe" - ( Pete Cooper one of my old fiddle teachers would be proud!) - to the point of where I think I have a damn good highly reasonable chance of having a jolly good go at Bach Toccata and Fugue, which I keep hearing on adverts or seeing certain people play, in adverts for documentaries on them.  And I did begin with folk and classical, when I first starting learning the violin, for a very long time.

Though I SHOULD NOT be playing, as the troublesome shoulder/neck is back.  :@     Must do chiropractic  stretching exercises

Thank you. It's old injuries, from when I've been playing for a very long time. Plus stress from crap jobs earlier.

I shouldn't really, although it seems to loosen it up, then hurts like hell. I must do those exercises and get better pillows, getting up is horribly painful. Chiropractor did fab work, so I must do the exercises she gave me, to continue her excellent work.

I'm pretty good. How are you? xxx Hugs. :)

Thank you! It's nice to know I did something right. That plus the layer of snow this morning has made it a really, really nice day!

Re the shoulder: have you considered doing something like Tai Chi? It's very good for loosening up joints (Glenise is currently teaching it to people with joint problems, and has found huge benefits herself: the knee problems she has had for decades have almost gone away)

Got to let people know! Oh, excellent, hope the nice day continues!

I'd been suggested alexander technique, the chiropractor said that was good in it's day, but now it takes an age to work and is expensive. She did suggest pilates. I'm not sure about that. However, tai chi sounds like a good solution. Is it true if sped up, it's almost a deadly martial art?

I think the chiropractor said it was the muscles (she certainly stretched those), but I think it's my knee joint that goes now and again. I would defintely give it a go. thank you. :)

I think it started off as a martial art but is now more an exercise thing. It's also extremely good for muscles because it is very slow and gentle, so never damages them. Pilates is a lot more stressful, I think, and tai chi has the advantage of being more graceful generally.

The day is still going well; we shall be ending up with dinner tonight - Glenise is cooking lamb and I'm doing the veg; K is coming, and possibly a couple of other people. Should be good.

With you on that. Pilates seems to have been jumped on by all the fashion and celebrity world, and didn' really appeal to me. Defintely interested in tai chi now, with as you say, the slower and gentle, and gracefulness. hope it makes me more graceful!

Excellent. Sounds like a lovely dinner. Enjoy. Hi to K and G. :)
